An award built from the letters.
For the 22nd Eskişehir International Film Festival, organised by Anadolu University, we designed the festival's trophies and its plaques of thanks. Rather than adding an object to the identity, we turned the identity into the object: the EFF letterforms and the slanted bar above them, cut out of solid metal and stood on a black base.
BRONZE, SILVER, GOLD
Light through the letters.
The main award tilts the mark like a frame caught mid-turn, cast with a faceted surface that catches light the way a screen does in a dark hall. The plaques follow the same logic in three tiers: a clear acrylic panel for the dedication, standing in a base built from the letters themselves in bronze, silver or gold.
Under a single spotlight, light passes through the glass and lands on the letters, which is a fair description of cinema too.
