KALA FILM · STATIONERY DESIGN
Telling stories, with a notebook.
Kala Film tells a different story with every production, so its corporate notebook had to do the same thing in the hand. Designed at the start of 2020, the set carried the brand's new logo into the world for the first time: a notebook doubling as a launch material. The concept was built entirely on storytelling, and the covers were laser cut rather than printed, so the idea is held in the paper itself. Three coordinated corporate colours turn the set into a family instead of three separate books.
CUT FOR EACH
The story starts on the cover.
Laser cutting gives a cover something ink never can: depth, shadow and the small pleasure of a finger running across it. That physicality was the point. For a production company the first frame matters, and here the first frame is the object you pick up. Three colours, one system, one idea: every book blank inside and already telling a story outside. A brand launch that people kept on their desks rather than in their inbox.
